Matthew Mckenzie
Matthew’s training in the performing arts has principally been facilitated through the Jamaica Musical Theatre Company (JMTC; both Junior and Senior Theatre arms in Jamaica), where he started training in 2006. Since then, he has performed in several of the company’s Caribbean tours of musicals originally made famous on Broadway. He has also delivered musical performances in several of the company’s musical summer concert series.
Since moving to Australia in 2016, Matthew has been involved in Queensland theatre, including playing Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors (Woodward Productions x QPAC, 2026).
Matthew has a background in the science and practice of psychology and integrates this in-depth understanding of human emotions, thoughts, motivations and behaviour to deepen his portrayal of various roles.
